HGW – Hot gas welding
The hot-gas welding process is a further development – patented by us – of the hot plate welding procedure, due to the consistent application of our decades of experience in application technology, in the field of welding of thermoplastic components.
This well-developed procedure – the only patented procedure for the particle-free welding of high-performance plastics in the world – is generally suited to all thermoplastic moulded parts. Outstanding results are achieved in the thermal welding of polyamide and other high-tech materials. With the hot gas welding process, all other plastics that are deemed to be too difficult to weld, including PBT, POM, PPO and PPS, are excellently weldable.
Our innovative procedure is used mainly when it is important to make high-strength welding connections without micro-particles arising during the welding process, as is the case in mechanical welding procedures. This also applies to weld connections for which thermal degradation, or damage to the material for the weld connection, is unacceptable. Therefore, for a large number of high-quality thermoplastics, hot-gas welding is the only way to get a high-strength, homogeneous and particle-free thermal weld.
